The world's largest breeding colony of West Indian flamingos is located in Inagua National Park. Surrounding Lake Rosa, the park features hundreds of exotic birds dominating the lake's shimmering waters. It's definitely worth a visit.

The limestone openings to the world's longest underwater cave system, located at Grand Bahama Island's Lucayan National Park, provide adventure. The scenic backdrop of this cave system is formed by turquoise-colored waves and golden-colored sand dunes.

In short, the wonders of The Bahamas are unique and seemingly endless. While most visitors stay on the beaches and at their resorts, exploring nature's bounty and the islands' cultural diversity is definitely worthy of consideration.

Sport and recreation are also abundantly available in The Bahamas, including world-class diving and snorkeling as well as deep sea fishing.

Nassau, the country's capital city, provides all the amenities you'd want in a major city. Smaller towns in the southeast islands are more intimate and culturally diverse, offering regional specialties and Caribbean cuisine.
