My Beach--Tofino, Vancouver Island, British Columbia

Tofino is my favorite beach but unlike those in Jamaica, Tofino is windswept, and far from tropical.

The beach is miles long, wide, flat and sandy but lies on the Pacific coast of Vancouver Island.

It is windswept and fabulous for boarding and wind surfing.

We go for a weekend and rent a house on the beach just to see the waves, the birds and the sea life. Yes, Eagles everywhere!

Warm in summer but full of life in spring and fall, and only a few hours away from the winter Olympics city of Vancouver. (2010 I think!)

You want a northern hemisphere, Pacific beach with character, then Tofino can't be beat.
