Planning Jamaica Vacations

If you’ve ever seen an image of the Caribbean, you will have been tempted to plan some Jamaica vacations. It’s almost irresistible, seeing the calm water, the sandy beaches and the people lying in the sun relaxing as they drink tropical concoctions. Jamaica is truly an island paradise and for people who spend the winter under a blanket of snow, the warmth of the sun is a wonderful treat.

Jamaica vacations are popular with people of all ages. Adults love the atmosphere, the temperatures and the laid-back feeling that Jamaica offers. They can leave their stressful jobs behind to spend a few days oblivious to everything but their tans. Children love Jamaica vacations as well. They can play in the sand, run up and down miles of beach, and never have to wear more clothing than a bathing suit.

Many cities offer direct flights to the Caribbean and there are discount periods during the year. During these times it’s a great opportunity for families to make the trek to Jamaica. With all of the activities found there, every member of the family will find exactly what they like.

Perhaps it’s diving. Jamaica has some of the most amazing diving in the world. For a fee, you can meet up with a diving instructor who will teach you the basics and then take you diving. This is not an experience you will find anywhere else. Another fun water activity is fishing. Children can join in on this as you fish in some of the world’s most beautiful water. These are experiences you often just cannot find at home, especially during the northern winters!

Another popular activity during Jamaica vacations is to visit the Dunns River Falls. This is a natural wonder and people from all over the world have traveled to Jamaica to enjoy the view. But you needn’t just stand and look, at the Dunns River Falls you can jump into the water and feel the blast of the strong current take over your body. It’s a unique experience and one that people of all ages will remember for the rest of their lives.

Jamaica has a lot more to offer than just water activities. You can take a drive or a walk around the area and discover new things all the time. One of the most popular tourist activities is to walk around the city you are staying in. They all offer many unique shops that sell native Jamaican items. This might be a market where you’ll get the best "jerk food" in the world. It could be a craft shop where you can pick up a unique artifact that you can take home to remember your trip. Strolling around Jamaica and soaking up the culture is one of the best things you can do on a lazy afternoon. If you’re interested in visiting a zoo you can go see the ostriches at the Cashoo Ostrich Park. This is something that is fun for not only children, but adults alike. Most people will never see an ostrich close-up and taking a trip to this zoo will not only be educational it will be fun as well.

If fish are more interesting to you, you’ll enjoy visiting Dolphin Cove during your Jamaica vacations. Dolphin Cove offers a very special experience to tourists. It allows them to swim and play with dolphins. This is an unforgettable adventure and although it’s a bit costly, that type of memory is really priceless.

If reggae music is an interest of yours, than you must visit the Bob Marley museum in Kingston during your Jamaica vacations. The museum is located in his former residence and it gives people an inside look at one of the true masters of reggae music.

Depending on your individual interests and the things that your family members like to do, you can each have a fantastic time on your Jamaica vacations. The days can be spent exploring the unique culture or simply soaking up the sun and the atmosphere lying on the beach. Jamaica is a fun and friendly place to visit and chances are that after you’ve visited once it will be the final destination for many of your winter vacations!
