Jamaica Economy

Learning about Jamaica economy is a good thing do before you set out on vacation. This does not mean that the economy should have anything to do with whether or not you go on vacation, but you want to be as prepared as possible for the island that you are about to visit.



The more prepared you are and the more you understand Jamaica, the more fun you will have. You want to make sure that you are have well rounded view of Jamaica. Just like any other part of the world, there are good parts and then there are the bad parts.

While there are currently some economic problems in Jamaica, there is a lot of potential for more modernization and growth.

A lot of this is thanks to their discovery of the natural resource bauxite. Since its discovery, it has become the main source of income for the Jamaica economy, which is a change from the time when bananas and sugar was the island's primary big industry.

In order to generate more employment and simply save the Jamaica economy overall, Jamaican officials are more than happy to encourage foreign investors to come and create businesses on their island.

To do this they will offer incentives such as tax holidays, deferred taxes, duty free access for the raw materials and machinery that would need to be imported for the business.

This means that international investors are really starting to take a look at the island as a place that they can seriously do business with.

Even though there is still room for improvement, the Jamaica economy would not be any where near what it is now without all of the revenue earned from tourism.

In fact, tourism is the main source of income for the island as it earns more than 50 percent in earnings and it also provides roughly a quarter of all of the on the island.

As you can see, there is a lot to the story of the economy within the Jamaican island. There are many factors that play a part in the success of the country and even though they have had their ups and downs, they continue to fight to make sure that they stay afloat.

The money that is spent on your vacation in Jamaica and the money that everyone else spends there will be put to good use.
